Many people force themselves to do multiple sit ups every day in order to achieve a six-pack, but the bad news is that they are wasting their time. This is a common exercise myth and if it was that simple we would all have sculpted abs akin to Greek gods and goddesses.

The simple fact is that sit ups alone don’t work all the muscles necessary to gain that 6 pack. They can actually do more harm that good as the strain on the lower back when you don’t do them properly can lead to long term problems.

You will only achieve those killer abs by eating right, sleeping well and doing exercises such as the Plank, the Swiss Ball Roll-out and the Renegade Row.
